Bahamas
The Bahamas – and especially Nassau, Bahamas – recently were in the news when former model Anna Nicole Smith was found dead and a legal battle ensued as to the location for her burial plot. While this has prompted a new interest in the Bahamas for thrill seekers and tourists, those who enjoy the sports of Bahamas scuba diving have long since known that this location is like none other for the serious diver. Granted, a wide variety of islands and coastlines vie for the business of scuba diving tourist, but it is the savvy traveler who likes the idea of combining a Bahamas fishing vacation with a scuba adventure who will truly attest to the fact that this area is like no other. You can find great fishing in other places just like you will be able to find wonderful scuba diving in certain locales, but to find both together, only the Bahamas will do. |

A map of the Bahamas shows that they are made up of a number of islands, each of which holds its own charm. The Bahamas also offer legalized gambling, one such noted resort being the Atlantis, Bahamas’ most recognized and glamorous locale on Paradise Island. After a bout at the casino you may decide to visit the Bahamas diving outfitters which will ensure that you are safely prepared for any eventuality that may occur under the ocean. In lieu of scuba diving you might wish to consider feeling the Bahamas’ breeze playing with your hair on board one of the many boats that are available for charter. Bahamas sailing charters are a common sight, and for the cruise aficionado who may only have a few hours while on a Bahamas shore excursion, there are the occasional regattas that form a major event on the islands.
Visitors to the Bahamas should not forget to also partake of the rich Bahamas food which is in part a testament of the Bahamas’ history and in part tourist driven. Consider the famous drink of the Bahama Mama, and it is not surprising that while the resorts and hotels seek to please their guests, they also attempt to hold on to their roots and traditions. No vacation to the Bahamas would be complete without purchasing a Bahamas map and attempting to attend as many of the celebrations, festivals, and special occasions that take place on the different islands as your itinerary can handle. |
