Cancun
Cancun is a name filled with promise. Who has not seen photographs in travel agencies or travel brochures of the whitewashed shops with their low beamed ceilings, sparking hotel entrances, and impossibly white Cancun beaches? For hordes of North American college students, spring break Cancun is a battle cry that is heard as the warmer temperatures grow nearer and as the long awaited break from the daily classes is put on the calendar. Cancun has long since become a city that is thoroughly reliant on the tourist trade, and with its wonderful beaches, exquisite climate, and the draw of the Caribbean Sea it was only a matter of time before Cancun resorts modeled for Western tastes sprang up around the beach areas. Today Cancun is the kind of tourist town that combines vacationers from cruise ships, who stop for a day or two, college kids who come to Cancun for spring break, and the family for whom Cancun vacations are an opportunity to relax together and recharge their batteries before it is time to go back together and then take up the yoke of work, school, and overall hustle and bustle of everyday life again. |

It is interesting to note that Cancun is a planned community by Mexico that took an existing island and combined it with the mainland, so as to permit tourists to access it any number of ways. Additionally, the Mexican government realized that tourism goldmine it was sitting on and literally made Cancun into the tourist haven it is today.
Cancun has also become something of a typical Western city when it comes to the conglomeration of hotels, the endless number of non-Mexicans who are soaking up the rays of the sun in the nearby shadows of Cancun hotels, and also the many vices that Westerners prize. Thee are establishments that offer them all, and each hotel – Cancun owned or not – will provide extensive information on where to go to find whatever it is your heart desires in the wonderful Cancun weather. If your desires are more ecologically leaning, then you can travel from Cancun to Holbox Island via boat or small aircraft. Fishing and shark viewing are the name of the game and you will even be treated to the sight of some flamingos. When you return to your Cancun hotel you will then be able to enjoy the sites, sounds and excellence of Riviera Cancun. Reviews for hotel Riu Caribe in Cancun, Mexico, are found on the Internet from travelers who actually stayed there, and many agree that vacations at a Riu resort, which also includes Riu Cancun, are the way to go for a fun-filled vacation with that little extra touch of caring. |
