Illinois
You might be surprised to hear it, but Illinois is the state in the Midwest that has the most people in it. In addition to being the most populated state in the Midwest, Illinois is the fifth most populated state in the whole United States of America, which is rather impressive considering that the Midwest is not the most populated portion of the country at all.

Illinois is just a run of the mill Midwest state that is operated much like any other state, when you get down to the bottom of it. They have their own state government, their own Illinois lottery department, an Illinois Department of State, Illinois State Police and the Illinois Department of Corrections, an Illinois Department of Revenue and the Illinois Department of Public Aid. The Illinois Department of Transportation maintains a fairly good road system in the state of Illinois. Illinois also has a fairly good bus system as well, which is what makes the city so good for travelers.

It has a rather good economy, not unlike many other states in the Midwest. Chicago is by far the largest city in the state of Illinois and the third single largest city in the whole fifty United States. Illinois is definitely a state that people travel to get a bit more education. Many people travel to Illinois to attend Illinois State University, Northern Illinois University and the University of Illinois. The Midwest period has always been a center of education for people around the world, especially people who come from bigger cities and want to get a quality affordable education away from home, and be able to start a life with a credible, quality degree.

Springfield is the capital city in Illinois, which means it is where a great deal of the professionals in Illinois reside. Many people live in and travel to Springfield thinking that that is where everything is happening, when in actuality Chicago is the city where everything is happening.

Springfield is the main tourist town for people who travel to the state of Illinois. It is where a great deal of the Abraham Lincoln monuments are, as well as a statue of the face of Springfield, Illinois that has been so rubbed off the copper is now showing on the nose of the statue; it is just a tradition for people who travel to see the cabin of Abraham Lincoln and other Lincoln monuments.
