Paris
Paris, France, is the kind of city that will grab a hold of you and never let go. Wagging tongues once reported that Paris has left behind its gilded image and is now little more than dirty byways. To this the response must be that every capital city with a high population count is bound to have some trash on the thoroughfares that may tangentially touch Paris, but do not actually lead the travelers into the heart of the city but simply permit them to continue on in their travels to wherever it is they are going. Paris is a city that has a long history and that is still making history as we speak. The treaty of Paris – which may be any of a number of historic occasions – was signed ending a variety of wars, including the American Revolutionary War in 1783. Furthermore, a map of Paris will show a wealth of attractions that Paris tourism operators will tout to no end. There is the Opéra Bastille, Arc de Triomphe, Place de la Madeleine and the Bibliothèque Nationale. Competing with these historic landmarks is Disneyland Paris. |

If you ever have the chance to visit one of the high rise hotels, such as the Hotel Charme Paris, and take a look out of the windows in one of the top floors, you will be stunned to see the many modern marvels that are located right next to the historic buildings. At times it looks as though these new buildings will swallow up the old ones, and a tourist may wonder what the city planners were thinking when they permitted so many different building styles to be located so closely together, making the whole of Paris look like a bit of an architectural hodge podge.
When you contemplate where to stay in Paris, you will find that hotels in Paris are plentiful, and at times quite expensive. Of course, if you are in the city on business, many a Paris hotel will cater to your needs with efficient rooms, low rates, and computer access. Other Paris hotels cater to the honeymooner who would not mind staying at the Hotel Chambiges Elysees, while your Paris map will also show you a number of hostels for the student traveler. Some Parisians are looking to rent out rooms in their Paris apartments to make a bit of extra money during the summer or during special occasions, such as the Paris fashion shows or the Paris marathon. So as you walk to the Paris metro station, consider the many different people who visit Paris and the many fascinating lives that connect in this marvelous city. |
