Puerto Rico
Puerto Rico is a locale that oftentimes defies a simple explanation. Those who have spent any time in this area know that even its territorial status with respect to the United States is not as iron clad as the Puerto Rican flag and American history books would have us believe. While precious little is known about the history of Puerto Rico before the Spaniards arrived, a lot has been documented since. A Puerto Rico map and even the motto show an affection for and devotion of John the Baptist, as may be seen in the naming of areas, such as San Juan. Puerto Rico was heavily influenced in this regard by Christopher Columbus and Christmas in Puerto Rico is usually a most festive occasion that many tourists enjoy tremendously. |

It is important to remember that Puerto Rico is more than just an island but indeed is a collection of several islands, all of which fly the Puerto Rico flag, yet many of which are distinct in their ways of doing things, and even overall lifestyle. Some Puerto Ricans will take it as an insult if you mistake the island of their birth!
The foregoing notwithstanding, Puerto Rico is a friendly area where the inhabitants welcome tourists and serve the great Puerto Rican food which is so hard to come by in other portions of the world. Another distinction that Puerto Rico does not share with any other tourist location is the fact that the Puerto Rican culture is not for sale and even touristy areas are unique in the fact that they do not compromise their national heritage for a few quick tourist dollars. Instead, Puerto Rico tourism consumers are treated to real life tasty morsels such as they have been enjoyed for decades. For those who have received a map of Puerto Rico, visited the sights, fallen in love with the Puerto Rican models or maybe the Puerto Rico history, will sooner or later toy with the idea of purchasing some Puerto Rico real estate. Before you sign on the dotted line, make sure that you get a good reading on the long term political climate and other pertinent facts on Puerto Rico that may have a bearing on the worth of your real estate in the long term. After all, you do not want to purchase a property that you may have to try and rid yourself of via a fire sale in a few years or decades. |
